Peruvian coffee continues to be one of our favourites. Peru has been producing some very impressive coffee.

We have selected to showcase these delicious beans from various smallholder farmers in the region of Cajamarca which include the Bourbon, Catimor, Caturra,, Typica varieties, grown at altitudes of 1650-1800 masl. After living and working in Cajamarca personally, we love that we can choose this regional coffee. 

Cajamarca is a semi-dry, semi-cold, tropical highland of Peru with very fertile soil at high Andean mountain elevations. All of these factors contribute to the specialty coffee production in the area, which is growing. Smallholder producers farm on 2-3 hectares of land. Most farmers in the area work independently, but the recent increase in cooperatives has been effective in increasing the quality of coffees produced in the area. 

In the cup, Miraflores is a delicious balanced combination of cherry, mild toffee and chocolate, with a mild fruit sweetness.
