MANYATTA ~ MICROLOT ~ SINGLE ORIGIN COFFEE FROM KENYA
MANYATTA - MICROLOT - SINGLE ORIGIN
This coffee is grown at the base of Mount Kenya, through a calibration of 1,150 smallholder farmer members of the New Ngariama Farmer Cooperative Society from the regions of Gariama, Manyatta, Kirinyaga and an altitude of around 1550 masl.
The New Ngariama Farmers Cooperative Society operates the Kiamugumo Factory, which was founded in the 1970s. There are about 1,500 contributing members who deliver cherry to the factory, each growing coffee alongside other crops on about 1/8th a hectare each, average.
This Microlot boasts Tropical fruits; pineapple, mango, lychee with honey sweetness.. It is made up from the SL-28, SL-34, Ruiru 11, Batian, K7 Arabica bean varieties.
We choose the name Manyatta for this varierty, not only as homage to the region, but we love the connections made from the Masai word meaning "a group of huts forming a unit within a common fence" and that of our community village here in Grassy Head.
This coffee is limited in supply and can be enjoyed as a filter or espresso option.
