PERU - REGIONAL SELECT
Peruvian coffee continues to be one of our favourites. Peru has been producing some very impressive coffee. We are thrilled that this recognition is becoming further and wider, with our green bean supplier expanding their Regional Select program from Colombia and applying it to Peru.
For Regional Select offerings, they are source based on cup quality and character, seeking a balance of “taste of place” with availability and price. These lots are built as blends from coffees that cup out between 84–87 on a 100-point cupping scale, and come with regional and often microregional traceability, but are not farm - or producer-specific. They highlight the best of Peru.
We have selected to showcase these delicious beans from various smallholder farmers in the region of Chrininos, Cajamarca which include the Bourbon, Catimor, Caturra, Costa Rica, Typica varieties. After living and working in Cajamarca personally, we love that we can choose this regional coffee.
In the cup, Chirinos is a delicious balanced combination of Hazelnut praline, peach and Belgium chocolate.
