LOS TARRALES ~ MICROLOT ~ SINGLE ORIGIN COFFEE FROM GUATEMALA
GUATEMALA - SINGLE ORIGIN
Finca Los Tarrales was visited in 2018, an origin trip to discover and educate ourselves further on coffee farming, growing and processing.
Los Tarrales is located within a region of diverse tropical wildlife, with over 350 species of exotic birds residing in a natural reserve, integrating forests and plantations in their large 1,300 hectare reserve on Guatemala's Atitlán Volcano. Their award winning coffee is grown and processed on a farm that's been operating since the late 1800's. Their ethos for conservation and sustainability is impressive and one we like to support here at Painted Blue.
The family are committed to cultivating high quality coffee in a sustainable manner. Coffee production is an essential way of life, and producers dedicate their lives to the plantations they nurture
The varieties we have chosen to showcase are ones we personally saw growing at origin in the plantation. we sourced these beans directly from the farm.
The Los Tarrales is a Geisha variety.
Geisha coffee can cost more than $300 per kilo, particularly from a family-owned plantation, in Panama. This is the highest price ever paid for green coffee according to the Specialty Coffee Association of Panama, and the whole world is paying up for a taste from the U.S. to Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, South Korea and Dubai.
We think this Geisha from Los Tarrales in Guatemala is amazing and we have made it locally available for you!
The magical combination of guava, orange, sweet honey and chocolate in a smooth, silky coffee has been hand selected from the farm and roasted in Grassy Head by us for you to enjoy.
Note:Grind size must be finer than with normal coffee grind.
